ADOPT-A-PET TORONTO is a partnership between Insidetoronto.com and the Toronto Humane Society.
This week's ADOPT-A-PET TORONTO is Kovu, a Bullmastiff mix and Pomelo, a domestic short-hair mix cat.
If you would like to adopt either of these pets or any other animal, please contact the Toronto Humane Society. They are located at 11 River St., Toronto. Phone 416-392-2273 or click the link below each animal.
KOVU (9 MONTH OLD, BULLMASTIFF, MIX)
Meet 9 month old Kovu!
Kovu loves to sit in the yard with his tongue lolling lazily in the sunshine.
He is happy and peaceful, when he has a ball to chase and the warmth of the new spring to bask in. Kovu is a serious character and quite reserved at first glance.
He requires structured meetings and lots of space to feel comfortable. Kovu will lunge and growl at new people who get into his space or try to reach for him. He has been uncomfortable with most touch, which may be due to his sore skin.
Kovu came to us with a case of Generalized Demodex. He has been responding to treatment nicely and is now looking for a home to continue his recovery and socialization.
He needs to be in an adult home who can understand his need for space and slow, positive interactions. Kovu should be the only animal in the home; he lived with a dog previously, but did not enjoy the company.
A quiet, adult home who can give him the structure and guidance he needs will be a blessing for Kovu. Under that serious demeanor is a steady and loyal heart just waiting for the right person to see it.
If Kovu could be the perfect fit for your family, please come on by the Toronto Humane Society or send us an email at adoptionk9@torontohumanesociety.com
POMELO (1 YEAR OLD, DOMESTIC SHORTHAIR, MIX)
Meet Pomelo!
Pomelo is a one-year-old male with loads of playful energy. He will require an active house hold with lots of play time and things to climb on. Pomelo was left outside of our shelter with his name on his cage and no other details.
Since his arrival here at the Toronto Humane Society, he has been very affectionate and loves to play. We would like to start Pomelo in your home as Foster to Adopt. It was reported from his previous home that he had trouble using the litterbox.
However, since being here in our care he has been using his litterbox just fine! We would like to monitor this for a little while before finalizing the adoption.
If Pomelo sounds like a purrfect fit for you, come down to the Toronto Humane Society or send us an email at Felineadoption@torontohumanesociety.com to arrange a meet and greet with handsome Pomelo!
INTERESTING PET FACT:
Did you know that dogs have a sense of time? They pick up on the habits and routines of others and can sense when time has passed.
