Human’s four-legged friends are taking over High Park on May 26 for a good cause.
Toronto residents and their dogs will walk together for the Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides fundraiser.
The event helps to raise, train and place service dogs with Canadians who have a medical or physical disability.
Held annually, the walk has raised more than $14 million over the years.
This year’s walk is being held in memory of former Dog Guides foster parent Erica Stark.
“Erica is remembered as a wonderful and dedicated community volunteer—we are honored that she chose to raise future Dog Guides among the causes that she championed,” said Sandy Turney, executive director of Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides. “We are all inspired by the spirit that Erica brought to her community.”
The walk begins at 6:30 p.m.
