Portland St. hires Santa Clara assistant Peery as head coach

PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland State has hired Santa Clara assistant Barret Peery as the Vikings' new coach.

Peery spent last season with the Broncos under first-year head coach Herb Sendek. The team reached the West Coast Conference tournament semifinals for the first time since 2010-11.
