Toronto is painting the city green for St. Patrick's Day, after the COVID-19 pandemic caused events to be cancelled for the past two years.
St. Patrick's Day happens on Thursday, March 17, but the festivities will keep going throughout the rest of the week. Here are some ways to celebrate like you're Irish, even if it's just for the day, on St. Paddy's Day weekend. Remember to follow all COVID-19 regulations while celebrating.
• Toronto's St. Patrick's Parade, the city's marquee St. Patrick's Day event, makes its triumphant return on Sunday. The parade kicks off at noon at St. George and Bloor streets, heading east on Bloor before turning south down Yonge Street. After going down Yonge, it will head west on Queen Street to finish at the review stand at Nathan Phillips Square, where there will also be live entertainment.
• SPD Guinness brings the party back to Toronto on Saturday. The all-day party at Rebel Nightclub features a pancake breakfast, Lucky Charms cereal bars, live music, Irish dancers, fiddlers and more, including games, photos booths and — naturally — lots of Guinness beer.
• St. Patrick's Day King Street Pub Crawl keeps the party going with a party for each leaf on a lucky clover on Friday night. Party St. Paddy's style at four different venues, with giveaways and VIP access.
• St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl also keeps the party going with four festive parties in one on Saturday night. Travel in style from one venue to another throughout the evening while toasting all things Irish and green with music, specials, giveaways and more.
• St. Patrick's Day '80s Dance Party brings the festive fun back to the old school at Sneaky Dee's on Saturday night. Throw on some neon green attire and have a totally tubular time rocking out to the decade's raddest hits as you cheers to the Irish.
• The Tara Inn is celebrating St. Patrick's Day all weekend long, with Irish dancers, music and more.
• St. Patrick's Day Hangover at the Linsmore Tavern has live music featuring traditional Irish favourites and more to start off your weekend in St. Paddy's style.
• The Roundhouse Winter Craft Beer Festival, presented by Steam Whistle Brewing, in association with the Toronto Railway Museum, offers a two-in-one celebration — get yourself a green snowsuit and head to the fest on Saturday to celebrate all things winter while you toast to all things Irish, with dozens of craft breweries along with food trucks, games, a dance party and more, even campfires and marshmallows.
• Toronto Comicon is happening at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre all weekend, so why not put a St. Paddy's spin on your favourite superhero costume and geek out at the ultimate event for fans of comics, sci-fi, horror, anime and gaming.
