Dozens of patients, staff and family members, as well as volunteers, gathered at Bridgepoint Active Healthcare the afternoon of Tuesday, Dec. 9 to take part in the hospital’s newest holiday tradition: a massive gingerbread decorating party.
Also a new creative art therapy program at Bridgepoint, the large-scale gingerbread house decorating event could very well set a new world record for the most gingerbread houses being decorated at one time.
Bridgepoint has submitted its evidence to Guinness World Records and expects to hear back by March 2015.
Sobeys grocery store donated the gingerbread house making kits to the local hospital for patients with complex, chronic disease and disabilities and also brought along a crew of 20 volunteers to help with the event.
A choir from Withrow Avenue Junior Public School serenaded the cheerful decorators.
