The program is geared toward permanent residents, live-in caregivers and protected persons.

Eager to learn more about investment planning? An event at the Fairview Library branch July 17 may have what you’re looking for.
A financial advisor will be in attendance at the event, taking place from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and will speak to such items as income splitting, risks to your retirement plan and RRSP market strategies.

• Farmers’ markets in North York
With the warmer weather come farmers’ markets to the local community.
And North York has several farmers’ markets swinging into gear, including the North York Farmers Market (Thursdays until Oct. 30, North York Civic Centre), MyMarket (Fridays until Oct. 17, Concord-Park Place), Fairview Farmers’ Market (Fridays until Oct. 11).
These, of course, are in addition to a pair of year-round options, including the Organic Farmers’ Market that is open on Thursdays at Toronto Botanical Garden, and the farmers’ market that is part of the Downsview Park Merchants Market, open on Saturdays and Sundays.
• Small Business Centre location in North York
Did you know Enterprise Toronto has Small Business Centres in three areas of the city, including North York?
The North York location is at 5100 Yonge St. (north of Sheppard Avenue) with business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
The small business centres offer a range of services, including one-on-one consultations for aspiring entrepreneurs with small business advisors who can review your business plan and make suggestions for improvements.
