Condo plan sees private sector step in to fill need for student housing near UTSC campus

A condominium project across from the University of Toronto Scarborough, which enjoyed sales success by marketing units as student and faculty housing, was inspired by developers who found it hard as students to rent housing near the campus.

A condominium project across from the University of Toronto Scarborough, which enjoyed sales success by marketing units as student and faculty housing, was inspired by developers who found it hard as students to rent housing near the campus.

Husband and wife Thomas Liu and Jessica Wang of the Lemine Investment Group met while at UTSC, but struggled with the limited housing options nearby, some of them not legal or clean, said Pouyan Safapour, vice president of Devron Developments and spokesperson for the project.
