Two men have been arrested on a slew of charges while allegedly travelling in a vehicle carrying cocaine and a loaded gun, following a jewelry store robbery in Toronto, police say.
Investigators say one of the men is a suspect in the armed robbery, while the other has been charged in relation to the drugs and gun.
It was on Feb. 24 that several men robbed a jewelry store near Gerrard Street East and Coxwell Avenue.
Police say a masked man was permitted entry into the store before he pulled out a handgun and ordered employees to the ground.
Following this, he allegedly allowed two more men into the shop before they allegedly took a "substantial" amount of jewelry and put it in bags they brought to the scene.
Following an investigation by the hold-up squad, police say one man was identified and found travelling in a vehicle.
After it was stopped and the arrest was made, on March 3, a search located a loaded handgun and cocaine. The passenger was also arrested.
Jahsyah Thomas, 19, of Brampton, is facing robbery with a firearm, disguise with intent, pointing a firearm and several other charges. He's scheduled to appear in court in Old City Hall March 4.
Richard Longrin, 25, of Vaughan, faces charges including carrying a concealed firearm, and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Two other men remain outstanding and Toronto police said the investigation continues.
