Impaired driving arrest after crash closes DVP Bayview-Bloor ramp
One person was arrested for impaired driving after a two-vehicle crash Thursday that shut down the Don Valley Parkway ramp to Bayview Avenue and Bloor Street.
One person was arrested for impaired driving after a two-vehicle crash Thursday that shut down the Don Valley Parkway ramp to Bayview Avenue and Bloor Street.
Toronto police said a Chevrolet pickup truck carrying three people and a black Kia SUV with two occupants collided on the ramp at 5:52 a.m. April 20.
The pickup rolled over, trapping one person.

“Two of the occupants were able to get out on their own. One had to be taken out by (firefighters),” Const. Clint Stibbe said.
The SUV sustained heavy front-end damage. Both of its occupants, along with the three people in the pickup, were taken to hospital.
Stibbe said the SUV driver was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
The ramp closure caused major delays on the southbound DVP before reopening at 10 a.m.

“We strongly suggest that drivers seek another route through the area, using Eglinton (Avenue) or other side streets where possible,” Stibbe said during the closure. “Bayview itself is open so if anybody can make their way to Bayview Avenue, they are able to go north and south on Bayview Avenue underneath the collision location.”
