An 18-year-old Toronto man wanted for allegedly sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl and holding her at gunpoint in a North York apartment has turned himself in.
Anthony Pulido surrendered to Toronto police on Sunday, March 26, a day after police issued a public appeal for assistance locating him. His arrest was announced Monday, March 27.
Pulido has been charged with point firearm, possess weapon for committing an offence, sexual assault, mischief - under ($5000), theft - under ($5000), forcible confinement, assault, and use imitation firearm to Commit an Indictable Offence.
He appeared in court this morning.
Police are thanking the public for the help locating this wanted man.
The alleged incident happened Thursday, March 23 when Pulido reportedly sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl in an apartment at Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue West.
Following the alleged assault, he reportedly held a firearm to the teen’s head and did not allow her to leave the unit.
The girl contacted police once she was freed.
A search warrant was executed at the residence and a replica firearm was located.
Police believe Pulido may have been trying to flee the country to evade arrest.
