Two men were seriously hurt in separate assaults last night by groups of males in Toronto’s downtown.
Six males beat and stabbed another male in front of a fast food restaurant at Yonge and Gould streets at around 11:20 p.m. on Friday, Toronto Police said.
After the group ran away, it was clear the victim’s injuries were serious, and he was rushed to hospital. His condition was described Saturday as serious but not life-threatening.

Police closed the west side of Yonge to investigate. There’s no description of the attackers but anyone with information is urged to call 416-808-5200, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
The second assault happened around two hours later outside a bar near Queen Street and Dovercourt Road. Police said the male victim may have been kicked and was “in and out of consciousness.”
His injuries were at first thought to be life-threatening. On Saturday, he was recovering in hospital, in serious but stable condition, police said.
Again, there was no description of suspects, but witnesses are asked to call Crime Stoppers or 416-808-1400.
