Const. David Hopkinson said police responded to 3815 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (near Brown’s Line) at around 3 a.m. on Thursday morning after receiving reports of a stabbing in the area.
"Information was that a group of people were trying to flag down a cab when an unknown assailant or two assailants came up behind the victim and stabbed him in the right area of the abdomen," Hopkinson said of the 26-year-old victim.

The victim, who suffered what were believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries, was conscious and breathing at the time paramedics and police arrived on the scene, Hopkinson added.
One male suspect, who has not yet been identified, was arrested at the scene. Charges are pending.
The second male suspect, who us currently being sought by police, fled on foot along Lake Shore Boulevard West after the altercation. No suspect description of him has yet been released.
