Scarborough’s Guild Inn could undergo partial demolition and a rehabilitation this fall as part of a deal to see the historic building reborn as part of a community attraction and banquet hall, area residents heard this week.

Vandalism, animals and flooding have damaged the former restaurant and hotel since it closed in 2001.
