Second Harvest is hoping to collect 6,000 turkeys for its 12th annual Turkey Drive to help feed those in need this holiday season.
The drive will take place at various Loblaws stores Saturday, Dec. 6 and Sunday, Dec. 7, and Saturday, Dec. 13 and Sunday, Dec. 14.
Shoppers can select and donate a turkey that volunteers will load into the refrigerated Second Harvest truck on-site. That turkey will then be delivered to Torontonians in need through food banks and meal programs.

"What shoppers have really come to love about Turkey Drive is that they get to select a turkey that will become someone’s holiday meal," Debra Lawson, executive director of Second Harvest, said in a release. "Providing healthy food to those who are not able to afford what so many of us naturally come to expect, embraces what the holiday season is all about."
For each turkey donated, Loblaw Inc. will donate $2, up to a maximum of $10,000 in funds, to Second Harvest.
