Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement in effect for the City of Toronto advising of snowy conditions for this afternoon and evening
"A relatively small amount of snow in the order of ive centimetres is expected to affect most areas of southern Ontario. Some areas near the Great Lakes may get a little more due to enhancement off the open water," the statement said.
This snow could impact the afternoon and early evening commute in and around Toronto.

"The snow may be a nuisance for the late afternoon commute especially in the Toronto region. The snow will likely accumulate quite readily on any untreated roads due to the recent cold conditions. Some local blowing snow may accompany the snow in some areas too, especially this evening when the winds pick up," the statement said.
Environment Canada expects the snow will move into central and eastern Ontario either late this afternoon or tonight.
Residents are advised to monitor local weather forecasts and warnings from Environment Canada at www.weatheroffice.gc.ca.
