TRAFFIC WATCH: Weekend road closures for the weekend of Nov. 21 to 23

DUFFERIN STATION

The subway station is closed all day Saturday, Nov. 22 and Sunday, Nov. 23 for final renovation work. During the closure, Bloor-Danforth line subway trains will not stop at Dufferin and a shuttle bus service will be available between Ossington and Lansdowne stations. You can still catch the 29 Dufferin and 402 Parkdale community bus from outside the station. A fully renovated Dufferin station, which has been undergoing a top-to-bottom modernization since 2013, is scheduled to re-open to the public Monday morning.

BATHURST STREETCAR TRACK CONSTRUCTION

The major road work project being carried out by both the TTC and the city was scheduled for completion Thursday, Nov. 20. However, according to the TTC, there is still leftover work remaining near the intersection of Bathurst Street and Dundas Street East. The 511 Bathurst streetcars, which were replaced by buses throughout the construction, are officially scheduled to resume running Sunday, although the transit commission believes there’s a chance to get the service back up and running by Saturday. Until the streetcars return, the 511 replacement buses will continue to divert from Bathurst between College Street and Adelaide Street.

HWY. 401

The Bathurst on-ramp leading to Hwy. 401 eastbound Collectors closes from 9 p.m. Friday until 4 p.m. Sunday for construction. Also, the Yorkdale Road on-ramp to the Hwy. 401 Collectors eastbound will also close for construction at 9 p.m. Friday and re-open Saturday at 5 p.m.

GARDINER EXPRESSWAY

There are some short closures planned for the elevated part of the expressway at various points. Starting midnight Friday, one westbound lane of the Gardiner will be closed until 11 a.m. Saturday for deck replacement work from Spadina Avenue to Dufferin Street. Also on Friday night starting at 11 p.m., the Spadina westbound off-ramp, as well as the right-most lane approaching it, is closed for a sign installation that’s expected to take an hour.

As well, the entire westbound Lake Shore Boulevard off-ramp at Brookers Lane will close late night Friday to late morning Saturday for construction. And from early morning Saturday until 6 a.m. the right-most eastbound lane approaching the Jameson Avenue off-ramp will also close for sign work.
