The TTC says it will boost some service for east-end riders looking to get to Ashbridges Bay for the annual Canada Day fireworks display.
With 501 Queen streetcars bypassing the intersection of Queen Street E. and Broadview Avenue, where track upgrade work is taking place until Friday July 25, the TTC is adding as another option for Canada Day more service for both the 22 Coxwell and 92 Woodbine South bus routes out of Coxwell and Woodbine stations respectively. Evening service for 92 Woodbine has also increased for the summer meaning buses head to the lakeshore every seven minutes instead of 10.
For all of July 1, the TTC will run a Sunday schedule, meaning less frequent service for all corridors. However, routes will start service earlier than on Sundays, at 6 a.m.

To get around, the TTC is encouraging picking up a one-day group or holiday pass for $11, which allows unlimited travel all Canada Day for up to six people, with some restrictions. Check out www.TTC.ca for further information.
GO Transit will also run on a weekend schedule for Canada Day, meaning some lines may not have service for the day. GO also recently added some additional weekend and weekday train trips on its Lakeshore and Barrie lines, in addition to other corridors.
