The Scarborough Wexford Shockwave U15 boys team won the championship in their division at the Robbie International Soccer Tournament this week.
The Wexford boys beat Ottawa Gloucester Impact Hornets 4-1 in the title game played at Birchmount Stadium on Monday.
Goal scorers for Wexford in the final were Bradley Alphonse, with two, John Bruzzese and Antonio Rowe.

The roster of the Wexford team is Andrew Alexander, Nathan Lee, Antonio Rowe, Kabil Sivamohan, Andreas Konnaris, Matthew Brown, Charlie Mortimer, Teddy Zografos, Joseph Berardi, Bradley Alphonse, Serge Kacou, Daniel Majcherzyk, Christian Rombos, John Bruzzese and Conrad Kesek. Front row: Shane Stewart and Konstantinos Stamoulakatos and Nicholas Kaegi. Coaches are Nick Stamoulakatos and Peter Konnaris. The Robbie tournament is in its 48th year and featured teams from across Ontario, Quebec, Alberta and the United States. Also competing in this year’s tourney were teams from Trinidad and Jamaica.
The Robbie is Canada’s largest youth soccer tournament for charity. Since it’s inception in 1967, the tourney has raised more than $1.6 million mostly for Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
The three-day competitive tournament began Saturday, June 28, at fields in Scarborough, Cherry Beach and Downsview.
Championship games were played Monday at Birchmount Stadium and the L’Amoreaux Sports Complex, both in Scarborough.

The Wexford boys were the only Scarborough team to win a championship in this year’s Robbie, but two other Toronto-based teams reached the finals.
In girls U16 play, the East York Blue Devils won the championship with 3-0 win over Chinook United from Calgary.
In the boys U16 final, Toronto’s Masters Futbol Academy Catalans fell 2-0 to the Kitchener Spirit 98A.
Other Robbie championship game results are as follows.
In girls U13, the Woolwich Wolfpack beat North Mississauga 3-1.
In boys U13, Brampton Blast defeated Ajax FC Red 1-0.
In girls U14, the Aurora Stingers (Team 1) beat the Pickering Power Green 3-1.
In boys U14, the Markham Lightning edged Dixie Athletics 1-0.
In girls U15, Ajax FC 99 White beat Dixie Athletics Black 1-0 in a match decided in penalty kicks.
In girls U17, the Woodbridge Strikers beat the Oshawa Kicks Avengers 2-0
In boys U17/18, the Montego Bay United FC All-Stars, from Jamaica, beat the Lakeshore Rangers, from Quebec, 1-0 in a game that was also decided in penalty kicks.
