Discover the white sands of Sauble Beach, on the western shore of the Bruce Peninsula. One of the longest freshwater beaches in the world, Sauble Beach boasts 11 kilometres of soft sand and clean blue water. In the summer, the town fills with visitors taking advantage of the beautiful beaches, or bird watching, kite sailing and hiking.
Sauble Beach hasn't changed much since the 50's, which is a big part of its charm for visitors.

Sauble Beach
The biggest draw to Sauble Beach is (of course) the beach itself. With 11 kilometers of pristine sandy beach, Sauble Beach is the second longest freshwater beach in the world. The water is perfect for families to swim, or sit on the beach and build sand castles. You can also kiteboard, play beach volleyball, or enjoy a cone from Scoopers Ice Cream. Thrill seekers can ride the large sand dunes, just grab a piece of cardboard and whoosh down!
Watch the sunset
You don't need much for this, just a beach blanket and a loved one to watch the sunset with. After a long day of activities, take some time to relax on the beach and look westward. Watch the huge, fiery ball sink slowly into Lake Huron as the sky transforms into delicate pinks, violets and reds. Sauble Beach proves you don't have to go far to witness breathtaking sunsets.
Sauble Falls
Take a day trip to Sauble Falls Provincial Park. The historic falls once powered a timber mill and in the spring and fall, you can watch Rainbow Trout and Chinook Salmon spawn upstream. The falls are at the end of Rankin River, which is an ideal canoe route for beginners. There's also a hiking trail, picnic site and adventure playground for kids.
Sauble Speedway
If you need a break from sunbathing and swimming, Sauble Speedway offers an exciting day out on the CASCAR professional racing circuit. They also host special theme nights during the summer months.
Oliphant Beach
Sauble Beach isn't the only beach in the area. With shallow waters, Oliphant Beach has long been a great family destination and is also a great spot for kiteboarding. If it gets crowded at Sauble Beach, slip away to Oliphant South, which has a designated swim area. You can also explore Oliphant Fen boardwalk, just north of Oliphant. The boardwalk is suitable for strollers, and signage along the boardwalk will introduce you to plant life in the area.
Fishing Island Tours
Explore the islands off the Bruce Peninsula known as "The Fishing Islands." The archipelago of over 70 dolomite islands in Lake Huron are located within the original territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation. Take a 90-minute boat tour and learn about the history of the area, including an island that was once home to a local still and a First Nations smokehouse. Listen to folklore tales and learn about the fishing methods of the past.
